I hear you Toni. My problem is that I don’t let the “church” dictate my beliefs and fauth to me. I see the “church” as an organisation that provides me with a place I can go to and practice my faith and enjoy the solitude I get there seek spiritual guidance. Having said that I do understand and agree with your comments about acceptance and tolerance by the “church” I live for the day the current Pope issues an cyclical offering the hand of peace and acceptance to all of us. I live in the hope that this guy is the most likely yet to do so.

I’m at the point in my life where I’m no longer tethered to the Church.
I have 9 years of Cath school, an aunt who is a nun and my family was very religious. Problem is they weren’t gay, trans or members of another group that is being ostracized by papal horseshit and inherent bigotry within the structure in Rome.
Its man made, man controlled and its bureaucracy is unsurpassed even by the most convoluted governments.
If you feel you need their acknowledgement and acceptance go for it and good luck….I get it.
Personally, the Catholic Church was a training ground for me and now as an adult who can think independently I can keep God at my side without the benefit of a guy wearing a Roman collar and a penatents hat offering me his ring to kiss.

I am sorry if you get the impression that I need the acknowledgement and acceptance of members of the church because I don’t. Like you say I don’t need the guy wearing a collar back to front for me to reach out to my God.
