Ok, first it was bakers who refuse to bake wedding cakes for same sex couples and now we have a high school teacher who refuses to use the first names of his transgender students because he states, “It violates my religious beliefs.”

Hmm…

My dog has a name. Even fucking goldfish have names.
My name, Toni Grace, is my legal name and its on my license, voter registration and my social security card…etc. It was changed by a State of Connecticut Court when I transitioned.
…and you better use it when you speak to me face to face.

But its a little more delicate when we are speaking about children. How do you suppose those trans kids feel with this bigot, as a authority figure, refusing to even acknowledge their names, let alone their gender!

Ill give you an analogy. Google Jewish students in Nazi Germany or Black children in the 1960’s Deep South. That’s how they feel!

In this so called “enlightened society” we are falling back to those dark days where bigotry ruled. The courts under the current administration are stripping our rights as trans people away at a alarming rate

I believe we are in for the fight of of lives against this spiral of bigotry and hate and I pray that it doesn’t take the price that other groups have had to pay in order to achieve equity.
Pay attention my friends…Rome is burning.

  1. I used to be a substitute teacher. In my introduction and reading off the attendance roster I would give a child a chance to tell me their choice of name, a Thomas might be Tom, a Jacqueline might be Jackie. The goal was to respect the child by calling them the name that he or she wished to be called. It’s the same with pronouns of choice as well. This teacher obviously has a lack of respect for his students and since teaching is his chosen profession a lack of respect for his pupils is eclipsed by his lack of respect for his profession and himself. If he wants to put his religion first then he should have no trouble finding employment in the faith based schools that encourage this bullshit.

  2. Well if this asshat is a public school teacher then he is braking the law as the FL Supreme Court has stated it’s against Constitution law for a state employee to us religious freedom as an excuse for not doing their job properly and as far as I know the asshats in DC haven’t made a Constitutional amendment to change that. If the asshat wants to pull that crap let go work for a religious church school that allows that bull shit !!! ❤️✌️
